Alex Pletnev is a Barcelona-based DJ, live performer and producer whose work tends to spread quietly and then show up everywhere at once. Over the last few years his tracks have slipped into sets across Europe, passed between DJs rather than promoted, until they became hard to avoid. His DJ sets follow a similar logic: less about narrative arcs, more about pressure, timing, and an interest in what happens when genres stop behaving.
He has played at places that reward patience and risk rather than spectacle — Roxy Club in Paris, Razzmatazz in Barcelona, Renate and ://about blank in Berlin, Trans Musicales in Rennes, Yaga Festival in Lithuania, among others.
In 2023 he released And You Never Come Back on RAND Muzyk x Echocentric — a progressive house record that felt slightly out of time and therefore landed perfectly, leading to multiple represses.
2026 is unfolding through collaboration. In February, Stonemilker — a joint project with his wife Laura — released an EP on the French label Virtual Forest. Later in the year, two EPs with San Francisco–based Namastrange are scheduled for Earth Dog and RAND. Less a change of direction than a widening of the frame.
