Somewhere between the lazily shuffling videotapes and the crunch of recovered vinyl lies the sound and philosophy of VHS Library.
The caretakers of this library, Roads and Eimantas, often remain in the shadows, as befits the detective classics, preferring to allow themselves to dictate the mood of the dancefloor from the position of directors. Never looking for easy scripts, he manages to incorporate elements of Acid, House, Techno, Electro; the Chicago and Detroit schools into his synthy sound story over the course of an evening.
As discerning DJs from different generations, they bring contrasting insights to their overall playing. Roads' love of broken rhythms involuntarily manifests itself in the party's most savage moments, while Eimantas' meticulous record collecting always has a head-turning vinyl plottwist.
Give these two a pair of turntables and a mixer and you won't even notice how the party turns into a tightly scripted thriller with a happy morning ending.
