Contemporary city festival AUDRA 2024 will rearrange the map of Kaunas, turning unexpected city spaces into islands of contemporary culture and music. Kaunas Artists' House will become one of these islands and on June 7th, it will transform into a labyrinth of auditory, visual, and sensory experiences, where young emerging artists will invite you to get lost in an experience that merges contemporary art and nightlife.

┌┘┌┘Audio installation “Music for Haven“ Author: Domantas Pūras. “Music for Haven“ is an artistic investigation created in collaboration with the residents of the Naujininkai Refugee Center. In the piece, the composer raises sensitive questions and encourages reflection on the meaning of haven, the role of music in connecting people, and the universal aspects of our human existence. It is an invitation to consider the threads that bind us regardless of our origins or the purpose of our journey.
┌┘┌┘Installation "Unrecognized object” Author: Rūta Simutytė An installation of illuminated artistic objects, inspired by natural structures, connects the emotional bond between humans and nature. By utilising descriptions of the effects of shapes, patterns, materials, and colours, and experimenting with (un)conventional textile technologies, the artist constructs a new, unexplored nature-cosmos world. Within the premises of the Kaunas Artists' House, these creations will form a new, isolated island, separate from the rest of the world, where visitors can walk, feel, and explore the objects as part of the natural and urban architectural landscape.
┌┘┌┘ Object “Upon reaching the shore of an island that emerged on the horizon, a body tossed by the storm finds support" Author: Indre Butkutė Is it appropriate to stretch out fully, pull oneself up, or settle in with one's head hanging down in a public place? We are accustomed to furniture dictating the positions for sitting or lying down. While in the city it's fashionable to move one's body by going to a dance floor, gym, or yoga studio, we want to encourage freedom of movement in everyday situations - like when wanting to sit down in a public space. Furniture, acting more like a sculpture, does not impose specific usage rules but allows for play, changing sitting positions, finding comfortable body support, and promoting easy, soothing movement.
┌┘┌┘ Algorithmic study for trumpet and electronics in B major Author: Romuald Chaloin Galiauskas Musical project delving into creative algorithms in music, assisting both compositional and performance aspects. The author aims to promote the conscious use of algorithms in the creative process, thereby highlighting their role in shaping the modern world. In the project, musical information written in a mathematical fractal model is performed using the interface of two instruments - an acoustic instrument and a programmed digital device, which expands the sonic parameters of the piece.
┌┘┌┘Performance "moNOtonija" In the installation-performance organised by the youth project "frameLESS", you will get to know the everyday monotony that surrounds each of us in a different way through the rhythm of dance. The dull grey in technology, accompanied by the words of fun-starved poems, will be painted with vibrant, expressive and emotional dance movements during the festival.
The event is free of charge. The event is funded by Kaunas’ city municipality ┌┘┌┘ More about the festival: www.audrafestival.lt/en This event will be photographed and/or filmed, so you may be seen in photos or videos of the event that may be published in various media.
